Westside Wedding loves iphone Apps: iShoes

As you know I love my iphone and it has been my own personal assistant with this whole wedding planning, allowing me to email vendors right away, approving drafts for wedding related items with time constraints and especially with trying to find the right shoes, jewelry, dress etc. The free iphone app iShoes helped me find my shoes & my moms!

I love that you can email your fav items! This is great if you need to email them to your bridesmaids!

I had initially wanted colored shoes but fell in love with these babies:

Decisions decisions...Bridesmaid dresses

Excerpts from bridesmaid dress shopping last Saturday....

First Stop:
First thing the sales person ask me is "what are your colors", then my eyes bulge out and I said "I don't know yet, but they may be yellow, or turqoise or grey"...After looking at dresses, I tell the sales lady "I've decided & want the dresses to be turquoise"! then she replies that the designer of the dress doesn't make it in turquoise. Ah!

Last Stop:

MOH tried on the bridesmaid dress, at David's Bridal and it did not look the way it does online, the material looked very cheap compared to the dresses she tried on at the other places, so we are back to the drawing board!

Lesson learned: If you are set on a particular color and shade, just know that certain designers may not have dresses in those colors and be ready to change the dress or color.

Love, love, love the backs of these dresses; barijay dress , jordan dress & watters

this barijay dress reminds me of Dirty Dancing...
Did you have a hard time picking bridesmaids dresses or was it easy for you to find them in your wedding colors?

Online Shopping Tip

Every time I buy something online I google for a promo code, this has helped me at least 3 out of 5 times, sometimes it's free shipping other times it's 25%, but the other day I was on a website that offered 15% for new customers, it just showed up automatically but me being the skeptic that I am, still goggled for a promo code, and it ended up being free shipping so the 15% was a better deal. I took off the promo code but then didn't know how to get back that 15% offer, even after I closed the browser it still was not showing me the banner for the 15% off, then I remembered that I read on the 9 secrets to online bargain hunting via MSN to delete cookies! and voila! it worked! I got my 15% off! Apparently the cookies was making the web site think I was not a new customer.

I want these shoes

So I was going through my delicious bookmarks and came across my "wedding_shoes" tag, apparently I had bookmarked chineselaundry.com as a place to look for wedding shoes. I've been a fan of chinese laundry shoes since the day I bought from them my first black suede sandal wedges my sophomore year in high school, I don't remember to many shoes but I do remember those. When I clicked on the link it showed me a pair of shoes that I was so tempted to buy, they seemed perfect! High, satin, go around the ankle and come in 7 different colors! My fav being the red and the blue ones, but then reality set in and I did not buy them because I don't even have a color theme yet! The problem I'm having with my colors is that I love the yellow & grey weddings I've seen, but then my fav color is green, and I've liked the green weddings I've seen, but then I love red shoes & I'm thinking I want my shoes to match my color scheme, but then I think of the guy's ties or my loves tux and how those colors would go with the guys and then I give up and decide not to think about it. Also lov'n these beauties which would match everything!

Ring Bearer

I don't want my ring bearer to have the rings in a pillow because I know I would never use that pillow again and it would get dirty and I would have to throw it away. What I want is something where we can both put our rings on before we go to sleep, so we can use it not only for the wedding but every day of our lives. I don't know about you guys but I take my ring off when I shower, clean, sleep and anytime that I am worried about losing it or damaging it, so I like having a set place for the ring. Here are some of the ring bearer containers that I have been having my eye on....

How cute are these kissing love birds wedding ring bearer nest ! The one to the left is by Rainsend and the one below is by wiseimpressions

but I also like this woodgrain dish by thebrickkiln
