Westside Wedding loves iphone Apps: iShoes

As you know I love my iphone and it has been my own personal assistant with this whole wedding planning, allowing me to email vendors right away, approving drafts for wedding related items with time constraints and especially with trying to find the right shoes, jewelry, dress etc. The free iphone app iShoes helped me find my shoes & my moms!

I love that you can email your fav items! This is great if you need to email them to your bridesmaids!

I had initially wanted colored shoes but fell in love with these babies:

Wedding iPhone APP

In addition to my bridesman/Bff & groomsmen who have tried to keep me sane & help out as much as they can, I also have another life saver - my assistant aka & right hand man, my iphone!!!  It's been a while since I told you about some of my iphone apps that have helped me with wedding planning,  and with only 71 days till the wedding, these 2 apps help me know exactly how many days till each wedding related event.
First up is the free Days Till app, I like this app because it allows me to add a picture (see pic below), choose the font/color for the words that appear on the pic & even lets me move around the words - in this case I moved them so you can see the Hollywood sign, pay no attention to the sign that says caution & no trespassing ;-) the second picture shows a list of all the events I added, as you can see it's crunch time!
The second app I have to keep me on track with the dates is the .99 Countdown  app, I had this app first & like it as well, it also lets you upload a pic, I keep this app too because it tells me how many months, weeks & days until an event.

As you see I have 2 months, 1 week and 4 days till the wedding. I'm ready to get married but not ready for the wedding ...still lots to do! I don't know how 10 months past by so fast, I think I spent too much time researching and not enough time doing things. I hear so many brides say that they didn't want to keep everything till the last minute but then somehow did..I am know understanding how this occurs. Work has been extremely busy & the wedding to do list has taken over all my free time. Once again I have over 1K unread posts in my google reader, I think I am going to unsubscribe from all wedding blogs that do not belong to a "real bride blogger" because I rather spend the little time I have reading all your wonderful blogs & hearing about your experience.

I'm sorry for the lack of posts, I am going to try harder to post at least 3 times a week, I wanted to make sure and post something, so even though it's 11:16 pm on a friday night & I am soooo tired from the week, I had to log on & write to you :-)
miss you much!

iPhone App: blog Press

It's been quite a while since my last wedding related iphone app post, thankfully MOH posted a more recent one about wedding apps! Today's iphone app is technically not wedding related but in certain ways it is if you have a blog about wedding :-) Without further adieu I present Blogpress! Over a month ago I was looking for an iphone app that would allow me to blog through my iphone because I needed a way to blog on the go, after much research I found that blogpress was the best one, & at 2.99 it's a pretty good deal. I have tested it's features & so far it seems to do what I want it to - allows me to blog on the go, post pictures, edit drafts, write post and save them as drafts etc. If you want to read a professional review on it check out The Blog Herald review *here*

Getting Married? There's an app for that.

To add to WestsideWeddings growing list of iPhone apps... Here's a list of some pretty interesting iPhone wedding applications I've come across recently:

iWedding - wedding event planner (comes with counter, budgets, lots of lists).

iBridalGown - need to find a wedding dress? There's an app for that! (Sorry that line is pretty catchy.)

Wedding List - Wedding guest list app by the folks from iWedding.

Wedding Day - Countdown app till the big event (I know I have one on my iGoogle!)

Personally, I'd like to take over the whiteboard at Westside Wedding's place and start making some flowcharts!

Who's your DJ?! My ipod homies!

{Moby spinng at Elevate Bar in Downtown L.A, taken by moi}
Um not really...we will have a human DJ at our wedding because music is very important to us, we want to dance all night (or till 12 am when we get kicked out) and I have heard from many peeps that the DJ can make or break your reception, ergo we are hiring a DJ. That being said, I also hear that many people are using their ipods for their reception as a means of saving money. If you are going the ipod way, you may be interested in using iTunes DJ & also in allowing users to vote on songs that are coming up in your play list or request a song that they want played. The only catch is that your guests must find someone that has an iPhone with the Remote application but now a days everyone knows someone that has one so this really isn't that hard and may even get your guests to talking to people that they just met. This is a feature that needs to be activated, so if you want to use the iTunes DJ but you don't want guests to vote or requests songs then all you have to do is not activate it. Are any of you planning on using an iPod or have at least thought about it? Have you been to a reception with an iPod in lieu of a DJ?

Iphone App: Wedding Related

ok ladies I could not wait till next week to give you some more iPhone apps, because I just found out today that theknot.com now has there own iPhone app for free!
The low down: Great quick way to find out answers to the 150+ top wedding questions & you can post your wedding questions and instantly get answers from other brides-to-be. What it's not- does not sync to your knot.com account & does not show the regular boards from the knot.

and weddingwire.com has an app too!
The low down: Shows all kinds or vendors in your area, and like most apps that are based on a particular website, it does not sync with your weddingwire account.

iPhone App: All Recipes

In October 07 , my contract ended with my precious cellphone provider and I was off to the iPhone store and since then my iPhone and I have been best buds. I needAllrecipes.com iPhone app aka the dinner spinner!
The Low Down: gives you the ability to search for recipes, save them as a favorite, read the reviews for the recipe and has the ability to email the recipe. What it doesn't do is it does NOT sync with your allrecipes.com account and doesn't have ALL the recipes & this my friend pisses some people off who have been using allrecipes.com for years. I'm cool with it not syncing, cause when I am using it I'm trying to find something quick and that I don't know about. And now for the recipes I've found thanks to the dinner spinner!
my iphone, seriously. It's like my own personal assistant. It tells me when helps me decide what I should cook, tells me when I have eaten too much, allows me to read blogs on the go etc etc. I'm always on the look out for new apps but I try & only get the free ones. So since sharing is caring, from time to time I will tell you guys about the apps I love, they will almost always be free, I think the most I have paid is $3 for one, literally just that one. So today I present the recipes I found while working out on the elliptical at the gym while trying to find a recipe for a work potluck.

  1. Tex Mex Black Bean Dip

  2. Jalapeno Popper Spread

  3. Dog Food Dip -ya the name kind of put me off too, but it is freaking good & EVERYONE loved it.
